I haven’t written much since Grand Prix Atlanta was a few weeks out. The two weeks prior to the event, I was doing nothing but testing when I got off work at 6pm to about 12am with Team Average Joes. Even after everyone left I would jump on MODO for about 1-2 more hours of testing before I went to bed. The weekends weren’t much better as I filled it up with Legacy testing at every opportunity, be it IRL (In Real Life) or on MODO.

Standard Brewing – U/B Tezzeret Control
As Standard is about to change slightly and evolve into a new format, I wanted to do something different for a local FNM one night. I decided to go Old School and give props to a good friend of mine, Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas. He and I go back to when I opened less than a box of Mirrodin Besieged at a prerelease (18 packs from 1 box and 14 packs from another) and he graced me with his presence…4 times. I knew then he would be by my side to bring out the Phyrexian in me. Here is our story…
Standard Features – What’s Good Nyikkuh?!
Standard: A place where people with the ability to acquire new cards get their best 75 together and try to be top dog. Sadly, a good amount of standard becomes dominated by expensive cards that many people either can’t afford or don’t care to spend the money on. It’s the way that it goes. Professional players win with a deck and the value of cards in the deck goes up because everybody buys those cards. The idea with this article is to get an understanding of the current standard to basically just get the wheels turning on your own more budget friendly decks.

Cuber DJ – Ten Traps for Johnny in the Magic Online Cube (Part 1 of 2)
Cube is a format for Spike, the win-at-all-costs player. I played the Magic Online Cube extensively the second time it was available. I noticed a lot of cards in the cube that I had cut, sometimes years ago. It seemed to me like Wizards was shoehorning more build-around-me, Johnny cards than would otherwise be needed for a cube drafting experience.

Delver after possible Bannings – Future Deck Lists
Will anything get banned on the 20th? Only time will tell. With the way the SCG Standard Open and the Invitiational looked this past weekend looked, something will likely happen. In both events U/W Delver decks were between 40%-45% of the field! I want to go over some possible decklists that could take shape if certain cards get banned.
