Everyone has their own opinion but most of these I have seen in action multiple times and are usually the center point for any game in progress. \u00a0Consider this a cheat sheet directly from my drafting experience&#8230;.your welcome. \u00a0These are in no\u00a0particular\u00a0order so lets get started.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">As a reference, these are a part of this cube here:<br \/>\n<a title=\"Pauper Cube\" href=\"http:\/\/www.editgrid.com\/user\/arndt\/Common_Cube\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.editgrid.com\/user\/arndt\/Common_Cube<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>HEAVY BALLISTA<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Heavy Ballista\" src=\"http:\/\/magiccards.info\/scans\/en\/wl\/133.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"312\" height=\"445\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This guy is a complete house against any deck except maybe the Spider deck. \u00a0He deals 2 to any creature getting in your way or trying to swing at you. \u00a0It has 3 toughness to evade most damage spells while costing 3 colorless and a single white, perfect for splashing. \u00a0If this guy sticks you can make any attack or block from your opponent very awkward if not\u00a0impossible. \u00a0If you ever get passed this, TAKE IT and play it.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>CRYPT RATS<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Crypt Rats\" src=\"http:\/\/magiccards.info\/scans\/en\/vi\/5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"312\" height=\"445\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This guy can be mana intensive if trying to kill larger creatures but most of the time dumping 1 or 2 black mana into it will reset a board state. \u00a0You can also just fireball your opponent out for the win with enough black. \u00a0It is fairly fragile with only 1 toughness but you\u00a0don&#8217;t\u00a0actually play this guy on turn 3, you wait until you can desecrate your enemies. \u00a0There are not many board wipes in this cube so take, take, take!<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>CAVERN HARPY<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Cavern Harpy\" src=\"http:\/\/magiccards.info\/scans\/en\/ps\/97.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"312\" height=\"445\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This guy is a little color intensive but if you open it, I\u00a0don&#8217;t\u00a0recommend passing it. \u00a0All you need to do is draft every blue and black come in to play ability and watch your opponent cry. \u00a0While being virtually unkillable, imagine reusing <a href=\"http:\/\/ajmtg.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-mtg-helper\/mtg_helper_cardfinder.php?find=Parasitic+Strix&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Parasitic Strix<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/ajmtg.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-mtg-helper\/mtg_helper_cardfinder.php?find=Mulldrifter&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Mulldrifter<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/ajmtg.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-mtg-helper\/mtg_helper_cardfinder.php?find=Gravedigger&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Gravedigger<\/a>, or <a href=\"http:\/\/ajmtg.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-mtg-helper\/mtg_helper_cardfinder.php?find=Blind+Hunter&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Blind Hunter<\/a>&#8230;.over and over and over&#8230; \u00a0While I have beaten this card multiple times when it has been played against me, I have also taken over a few games where I was about to lose. \u00a0Even if you dont play it because of color cuts, dont let anyone else have it or else feel the wrath of the Harpy!<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>IZZET CHRONARCH<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Izzet Chronarch\" src=\"http:\/\/magiccards.info\/scans\/en\/gp\/119.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"312\" height=\"445\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Another mana intensive guy but getting back a removal spell while having a blocker is\u00a0exactly\u00a0what you want to be doing in a Cube draft. \u00a0I see this guy getting passed way too much and I cant figure out why. \u00a0People always say they are passing my card and once I get it, I beat them with it. \u00a0Maybe they will learn&#8230;. \u00a0In the mean time, imagine this guy with <a href=\"http:\/\/ajmtg.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-mtg-helper\/mtg_helper_cardfinder.php?find=Cavern+Harpy&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Cavern Harpy<\/a>. \u00a0<em>Geeeeezzzzzz<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>SERAPH OF DAWN<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Seraph of Dawn\" src=\"http:\/\/magiccards.info\/scans\/en\/avr\/35.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"312\" height=\"445\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A new addition to the cube but should easily be a first pick. \u00a0Her four toughness is incredibly strong in a pauper cube, not to mention she has Flying and Lifelink. FLYING <em>and<\/em> LIFELINK! \u00a0I can see playing Green with her for all the power ups effects and enchantments. \u00a0She has the ability to completely take over a game and make it almost unreachable for an opponent to get back into it. \u00a0Double white is almost a turn off but its a\u00a0necessary\u00a0cost for her amazing abilities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>GRAVEDIGGER<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Gravedigger\" src=\"http:\/\/magiccards.info\/scans\/en\/tp\/31.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"312\" height=\"445\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So your saying I can rebuy my best creature that just died? \u00a0And he gets in for 2? \u00a0And hes black so he can be abused with <a href=\"http:\/\/ajmtg.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-mtg-helper\/mtg_helper_cardfinder.php?find=Cavern+Harpy&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Cavern Harpy<\/a>? \u00a0So whats the problem? \u00a0I splash this guy every time if I see him late&#8230;hes that good. \u00a0There are clones like <a href=\"http:\/\/ajmtg.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-mtg-helper\/mtg_helper_cardfinder.php?find=Driver+of+the+Dead&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Driver of the Dead<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/ajmtg.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-mtg-helper\/mtg_helper_cardfinder.php?find=Desecrator+Hag&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Desecrator Hag<\/a>,\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/ajmtg.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-mtg-helper\/mtg_helper_cardfinder.php?find=Cadaver+Imp&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Cadaver Imp<\/a> but none of them are as\u00a0efficient\u00a0as this guy. \u00a0Take it first or come in last.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>SHIMMERING GLASSKITE<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Shimmering Glasskite\" src=\"http:\/\/magiccards.info\/scans\/en\/bok\/51.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"312\" height=\"445\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A 2\/3 Flier with semi-shroud&#8230;good enough in my book. \u00a0Some decks just cant beat this guy and thats the point. \u00a0Typically the only way to take it down is to have a larger flier or gigantic reach guy but your blue&#8230;you will have answers. \u00a0Another splashable 4 drop that is a beating. \u00a0Do yourself a favor and take him first, your opponents will hate you later.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>BLIGHTWIDOW<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Blightwidow\" src=\"http:\/\/magiccards.info\/scans\/en\/mbs\/77.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"312\" height=\"445\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I thought long and hard on this one as it was very close between this and <a href=\"http:\/\/ajmtg.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-mtg-helper\/mtg_helper_cardfinder.php?find=Penumbra+Spider&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Penumbra Spider<\/a>. \u00a0In the end I liked how <a href=\"http:\/\/ajmtg.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-mtg-helper\/mtg_helper_cardfinder.php?find=Blightwidow&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Blightwidow<\/a> can just deteriorate a flying squad not just block one forever. \u00a0Occasionally\u00a0you might win with Infect but typically he holds the fort down while your other green monsters get in for the win. \u00a0It doesnt have flavor text but if it did i&#8217;m sure it would read: <em>Fort Knox<\/em>. \u00a0By the way, I love this art.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>BATTLE-RATTLE SHAMAN<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Battle-Rattle Shaman\" src=\"http:\/\/magiccards.info\/scans\/en\/roe\/136.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"312\" height=\"445\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There are a lot of good come into play\u00a0abilities\u00a0with red but the reason I like this guy is that he turns anyone on your team into a nice beat stick, every turn. \u00a0He gets played almost like an enchantment in that you almost never attack with him but gives you a static pump ability for your attacks. \u00a0I once drafted a Green\/Red token deck and this Shaman was probably the best guy in my deck. \u00a0If\u00a0your\u00a0opponent cant deal with him they will either keep losing guys or just lose the game.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>ELGAUD SHIELDMATE<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Elgaud Shieldmate\" src=\"http:\/\/magiccards.info\/scans\/en\/avr\/50.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"312\" height=\"445\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Finally we have another blue creature and its a new inclusion. \u00a0This guy with any other creature is just awesome. \u00a0It gives you the ability to protect a creature with a very powerful ability like <a href=\"http:\/\/ajmtg.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-mtg-helper\/mtg_helper_cardfinder.php?find=Blinding+Mage&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Blinding Mage<\/a> or\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ajmtg.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-mtg-helper\/mtg_helper_cardfinder.php?find=Prodigal+Pyromancer&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Prodigal Pyromancer<\/a> while also protecting itself. \u00a0Unless they counter it or wipe the board, its will be very tough for any opponent to beat this once Soulbonded.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Below are some honorable mentions that are still insane but you probably shouldn&#8217;t take them over the above cards. \u00a0Let me know what you guys think or let me know if I missed anything. \u00a0Keep a look out for the Top 10
